The proposed Doha Marina Mall is located within the Marina district of the Lusail Development City (15kms) away from Doha. The concept is based around five retail pebbles or islands that are the solid elements within the enclosed views. Connected via a continuous internal public mall that runs between these islands the architecture expresses in its design the impact of water on natural land forms in particular the erosion of coastal elements. The location on the waterfront at the main marina of Lusail ensures that each elevation plays a prominent role and there is no back to the project.
The project consists of five levels overall 2 basement and three main retail levels. There are also mezzanine retail areas and podium parking decks within the overall massing of the project. The overall GLA is 71,116 M2, GFA is 99,953 M2 and BUA 234,958 M2 including all areas discounted from GFA calculations. There are currently planned to be 248 retail units, 42 F&B units, 5 anchor units, family entertainment Centre, Cinema, Fitness Centre and Supermarket supported by approximately 2,695 parking spaces.
The project sits within a self-contained landscape area with public realm on all four sides including a 40m zone on the Marina side that includes retail pavilions. On all sides the site is surrounded by the as built Lusail City Master Development public realm Landscape Scheme.
